Hi, I’m Wendy — welcome to my little corner of the internet.
I’m a mom, a (somewhat chaotic) home cook, and the person behind The Salty Uber Mom. If you’ve landed here, you either stumbled in by accident or someone who loves you sent you this way. Either way, I’m glad you’re here.
So what’s the deal with “Salty Uber Mom”? Well — I used to drive my kids everywhere (hence the Uber part), I’m not afraid to tell it like it is (hence the Salty part), and yes, I’m very much a Mom. It’s pretty on the nose, honestly.
This blog started as a place for me to share the recipes I’ve been collecting, tweaking, and serving to people who didn’t always ask for them. Some are family heirlooms passed down through handwritten index cards. Some are things I invented on a Tuesday when the fridge was mostly empty. A few have been declared “actually really good” by people who were braced for the worst — and I consider that a win.
You’ll also find me writing about mom life in all its unglamorous, hilarious, occasionally messy reality. I don’t have it figured out. I do have strong opinions about casserole dishes and a smoke alarm that goes off every single time I make toast.
What you’ll find here:
Recipes that are actually doable on a weeknight. Stories from the trenches of motherhood. The occasional rant about things that deserve one. And hopefully something that makes you feel a little less alone in whatever season of life you’re in.
Grab a cup of coffee (or wine — no judgment), have a look around, and feel free to leave a comment. I read every single one.
— Wendy
