Last year I started driving Uber and I love it. Really, I do! Yes, I’m just as surprised as you. I’d heard many horror stories, both from passengers and drivers. I’d watched youtube horror stories. I pretty much freaked myself out. But needing to make ends meet, I bit the bullet and signed up. I was apprehensive at first, but it’s not so bad. I’ve met some really interesting people and found really neat places that I never would have found on my own.
It has also afforded me the opportunity to pay down my credit cards and have extra cash in my account. And that way I’m not so stressed about what is, or isn’t, in my bank account the few days leading up to payday for my regular job.
But when I started driving, I didn’t have a dash cam, as decent ones can be a little pricey. Even though my experience has been pretty great overall, I’ve definitely had my fair share of rowdy passengers. Nothing I haven’t been able to handle, but I have had to kick people out of my car. It amazes me how people think it’s ok to just touch you!
Anyhoo, once I was able to afford one, I did my research and chose the Vantrue N2 Pro Dual Dash Cam Dual 1920x1080P Front and Rear Dash Cam with the Samsung 64GB MicroSDXC Evo Select Memory Card.
Here’s a video of a ride I did a few months ago, to show how well the night vision interior camera works. In this clip, Mr. Drunk Dude’s lady, who was paying for his ride, canceled the ride right in the middle of nowhere. Felt like it took forever to get to that dang shopping center!
This camera is definitely a must have to protect not only yourself as a driver, but your passengers as well. Even if you aren’t an Uber or Lyft driver, these days it’s a good idea to have a dash cam in your car in case of accidents.
