As I’m sure many of you can tell from my Etsy store, I focus in creating pages that can be used with the Rocketbook system. Lately I’ve been working on finding an alternate method to the Rocketbook app, black border, and QR code. Don’t get me wrong, it works great. But I felt there had to be another way that didn’t include black lines and a large footer/QR code at the bottom. So much wasted space!
I tried a lot of different apps, some free, some paid. Some could only save as PDFs, others integrated with email.
With Microsoft Lens, (not an affiliate link, this just works!) you can scan and upload your pages similar to the other app except no black border, destination footer, or QR on the bottom taking up space. Lens doesn’t have OCR, but the documents are searchable, which is what won me over in the first place with the Rocketbook. Searchable is exactly what I needed!
Not only that, one of my absolute favorite features of saving to OneNote on the Microsoft Lens platform, and a Major improvement over the other, is that you can change the destinations in real time each time you scan.
That’s right! If you have a page you want sent to a different OneNote section, all you have to do is click the drop down, choose the notebook and page of your choice without having to change Rocketbook destinations.
For me, this is a major game changer and will save me a TON off time! I won’t be spending my evening moving around all of my scans to the appropriate section of OneNote.
Destination Options Include:
The destinations for Microsoft Lens may not be as robust as Rocketbook, but they should be more than sufficient for most of us. And of course, because it’s a Microsoft product, it’s destinations are, of course, Microsoft.
Even if you haven’t been using the Rocketbook app or scanning your notebook pages, I really encourage you to try it. I use my notebook and pages for both my personal life and work. Every couple of days or so, I scan my pages, upload to OneNote, and then erase my pages that I made from special Re-Usable paper to reuse them. So when my boss says he never told me to do the thing I just did, I can quickly search OneNote for a key phrase or date and pull up the note where he in fact, did tell me to do that thing!
The Title is editable, too!
It is easier and much faster than searching through notebook after notebook trying to find the instructions you were given. This has saved me many times!
Saving the pages isn’t just for CYA though. I use it as a reference from meetings, tracking when something was accomplished, or anything else I may need to go back to in the future.
With this latest discovery, you will find some new content in my Etsy store. I have slowly begun the process of recreating my digital download pages without the border, footer, and QR code, and am posting the pages as they’re complete. Going forward, new pages will be available with and without the Rocketborder.
You can also find my digital downloads here. And as always, if you want any of the pages printed on reusable paper, I’m happy to create custom orders and even entire notebooks for you! Click here or scan my QR to get to my custom order page, Etsy store, discounts, and more!

That’s great Wendy. I’m using Goodnotes but this information is likely useful for that platform as well. Thanks for sharing.
