I’ve heard you either love ’em or hate ’em! Our family is a big fan of sweet potatoes. Whether it’s baked sweet potatoes, sweet potato fries, or sweet potato casserole, they’re definitely a fan favorite in our household. This is also a great balance to the tangy Grandma Angie’s Italian Stuffing we serve on Thanksgiving.

You can also add mini marshmallows for the last 3 minutes of baking if desired.

Grandma Angie’s Candied Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2 ea Sweet Potatoes (or 29oz can of yams) cooked, peeled and cut into chunks

  • 1 cup Karo dark corn syrup

  • ½ cup Firmly packed brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp Kerrygold butter

Directions

  • Preheat oven 350°.
  • Place potatoes in shallow baking dish.
  • In pan on stove, bring Karo syrup, brown sugar, and butter to boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
  • Pour sauce over potatoes.
  • Bake 350° for 20 minutes, basting often.
